Corporate Communications Intern
CCD: Tell us about your work experience. What were your responsibilities?
SW: I was responsible for writing articles for the internet site, assisted with employee engagement events, and wrote a patient fact sheet for Hodgkins Lymphoma.
CCD: How did you get the position? What resources at BU or elsewhere did you use?
SW: I found the position on the BU Handshake site, mentioned it to one of my professors, and he connected me with an employee at Takeda.
CCD: What was the best thing about the experience? What was the worst?
SW: The best part of this internship was really feeling like I was an important part of the team. The worst part was having to leave at the end of the summer.
CCD: What was the most memorable moment of your experience?
SW: The most memorable moment was probably handing out pride themed cupcakes in the cafeteria, seeing how excited people get, and realizing that you can do something you love and get paid for it!
CCD: What advice would you give to another student about making the most of an internship or job experience?
SW: Try something out that interests and challenges you, you may be surprised to have a passion for it that you never knew about.
