Good Health Day Coordinator
CCD: Tell us about your work experience. What were your responsibilities?
MB: A typical day as the GHD Coordinator includes emailing potential participants and sponsors to come table at Good Health Day, liaising with department heads within CBWCHC, ordering supplies and rentals, applying for NYC Parks and NYPD parking permits, recruiting volunteers, spearheading planning meetings and a press conference, and promoting the health fair on social media.
CCD: How did you get the position? What resources at BU or elsewhere did you use?
MB: I found the position on indeed.org.
CCD: What was the best thing about the experience? What was the worst?
MB: The best thing about my internship was networking with such a great group of talented individuals. The worst thing about my internship was the immense amount of planning I had to cram into a 2 month period.
CCD: What was the most memorable moment of your experience?
MB: I remember waking up at 4 in the morning and reaching the park at 6am, where the Good Health Day fair was being held. It was insane being awake for 16 hours straight that day!
CCD: What advice would you give to another student about making the most of an internship or job experience?
MB: The attitude you put into your job experience is what you get out of it. If you try and make as many great memories as you can during the internship, you will be rewarded with memories that will hopefully change your career path for the better.
