Anthony Tran
ENG’16 | Mechanical Engineering
Associate Engineer & BU Campus Ambassador
CCD: Tell us about your internship experience. What were your responsibilities?
Anthony: As an engineer, I worked under a senior footwear design engineer on the development team overseeing and working on the materials, costing, fit and manufacturing of Converse’s footwear. My own projects were digital documentation, reviewing best practices, and I was even able to design and manufacture my own sneaker from start to end!
CCD: What was the best thing about the internship experience?
Anthony: The best thing about the experience was the structure of the program – I got to work with the program managers, department managers, team project managers and sponsors. It was a holistic and authentic industry experience.
CCD: What’s next for you?
Anthony: I am graduating in December and will most likely end up in an operations leadership program or development role somewhere around Boston. My experience at Converse definitely broadened my horizons in terms of engineering and encouraged me to be more open to all industries.
