Students choose to attend Boston University for a variety of reasons. There are so many opportunities available to you it’s hard to take advantage of all that BU has to offer.
If you’re looking to enter the workforce after you graduate, you’re in luck! According to NACE’s Job Outlook 2015 Spring Update, “Employers are nudging up their initial hiring projections for this year’s college class as they now plan to hire 9.6% more new graduates from the Class of 2015 for their U.S. operations than they did from the Class of 2014.”
If the trend continues, 2016 grads will also graduate into a healthy job market. One thing you may be wondering is how do I find a job? Well, each semester, employers come to the CCD to conduct on-campus interviews for BOTH internship and full-time positions.
So many great employers come on campus, but we don’t have enough students using this valuable resource. Some students don’t even know that this resource exists!
What is an on-campus interview?
Using Handshake, employers post a position in the system and choose an interview date. Students apply through the system and the employer selects those students they are interested in meeting. If selected, students choose an interview time and come to the CCD on the assigned date.
How does a student apply to an on campus interview?
- Log in to your Handshake account
- Under Jobs & Internships, click on “On-campus Interviews”
- Click on the position title to view the description page
- If you are interested, apply with your resume, cover letter, and any other required materials.
- If selected, you will receive an email with instructions on signing up for a timeslot
On-campus interviews are a win-win for all involved. Employers coming to campus want to hire BU students. Who knows, they just might hire you!
