CCD: Tell us about your experience. What were your responsibilities?
Dana: I expanded the brand’s presence online; managed Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter platforms with a collective following of 29,000+; and established a Pinterest account. I also increased audience engagement (and ultimately website sales) and assisted with digital marketing strategies and campaigns.
CCD: What was the best thing about the experience?
Dana: I really enjoyed being able to “own” projects and work closely with my boss, who is a single mom and entrepreneur. I learned a lot from her as a mentor, which was one of my main goals of the internship.
CCD: What is one thing you’ve learned that will benefit any future internships or other hands-on experiences?
Dana: Don’t be afraid to ask for more work if you feel like you’re not being challenged in your position.
CCD: What are the top 3 skills you’ve learned from this experience?
Dana: Time management, networking, and social media engagement analysis.
CCD: What are the benefits of the type of summer experience you did?
Dana: I got to experience a new country and culture while working in the startup space.
